Personal Story by ‘Bridge of Hope’ Board Member (Norma Jean)

My sister, Nancy, from Lancaster, PA often told me about her work with Bridge of Hope. Her stories of working through her church as a mentor to a young woman and her children intrigued me and often challenged me to thinking about what I could be doing here in Saint Joseph County to help homeless single moms and their children.

One Sunday in late August two years ago, my sister Nancy and her husband visited with us and were willing to speak to a group of about 15 persons (that included Mike and Pat Druley) about their work with Bridge of Hope. It was at that brief meeting that a small seed was planted in the minds of those attending and today I celebrate that we are planning our first fundraiser to raise funds to hire our first program director for our officially established Bridge of Hope Saint Joseph County.

What a wonderful example of how Bridge of Hope is spreading across the country! Thank you for sharing. I hope it brings encouragement to others to contact our national office and find out more.
Blessings for your journey!
Francesca
